Jennifer Jones (anjj@uaa.alaska.edu) is the current Project/Training Coordinator for the Alaska Works Initiative. Jennifer provides training and technical assistance to benefit planners statewide and to state and community agencies. Ms. Jones currently works for the UAA Center for Human Development and previously with the Governor's Council on Disabilities and Special Education to manage and Coordinate the Alaska Works Initiative, a statewide initiative to address barriers to employment for people with disabilities in the state of Alaska. Jennifer teaches the Supported Employment course for the Learn as You Earn program through the Prince William Sound Community College. Jennifer has a Masters in Management and Disability Services from University of San Francisco.
Jennifer has a range of business related experience including owning and operating her own business J² Enterprises LLC. Jennifer has been in business since 2000 providing contract services in the area of youth leadership, grant development, financial supports and planning. Ms. Jones in her current role with Alaska Works is also responsible for the development of microenterprise opportunities for individuals with disabilities statewide. Jennifer has assisted a number of individuals to begin their own small businesses and to develop PASS plans and the other benefit planning involved in their long term success as a part of that effort. Ms. Jones is responsible for training and certifying benefit planners for the state if Alaska and in that role she also assists many of those individuals who choose to provide that service as an independent Community Rehabilitation Provider. Ms. Jones has a variety of experiences and education that serves the disability community in response to the needs around microenterprise in Alaska.
